The Process
How It Works
Exit readiness is not an event. It is a 3–5 year programme of deliberate improvement across seven dimensions of your business. Here is how we structure that work.
- 01
Score
Take the free 7 Mills Score — a 17-question assessment across seven dimensions of exit readiness. You will receive an instant score, a dimension-by-dimension breakdown, and an initial view of your strengths and gaps.
The score is free, takes 5 minutes, and gives you a factual starting point rather than guesswork.

Diagnose
We translate your score into a prioritised diagnostic — a view of which dimensions are dragging your multiple, which are protecting it, and what a buyer would see if they ran due diligence on you today.
The diagnostic also includes an indicative valuation range, giving you a financial frame for the work ahead.
- 03
Plan
From the diagnostic, we build a 90-day action plan — the highest-leverage things to fix first. Plans are prioritised by impact on your multiple, not by ease.
Most owners are surprised by what moves the needle most. It is rarely the thing they thought it was.
- 04
Work
We work the plan over 12 to 36 months, depending on where you start and when you plan to exit. Progress is tracked against the 7 Mills Score — you rescore every quarter and watch your multiple move.
The work is concrete: documenting systems, restructuring ownership, reducing owner dependency, cleaning financials. Not strategy. Execution.
- 05
Exit
When you are ready to go to market, you go with clean books, documented systems, a management team buyers trust, and a business that can run without you. That combination commands a premium — and it is the difference between a deal and a discount.
